Backbend

DESCRIPTION

A Backbend is a skill in which the athlete starts upright and descends slowly into Bridge position. It is a move that requires a lot of strength, flexibility and balance.

Here are the steps to perform a Backbend:

  1. Start in a standing position with your feet shoulder-width apart and your arms extended above your head.

  2. Begin to lean backwards, bending at the waist and keeping your arms extended above your head.

  3. As you continue to lean backwards, ease yourself into a Bridge position slow and controlled.

This move requires good balance, flexibility, and upper body strength. It's important to be familiar with both Backbend and Bridge move before attempting on floor.
