BRIDGE

DESCRIPTION

A Bridge is a skill in which the athletes back is arched upward, with their feet on the floor and their hands supporting their body. It is a move that requires strength, flexibility and balance.

Here are the steps to perform a Bridge:

  1. Begin by lying on your back with your arms by your ears and your knees bent.

  2. Plant the soles of your feet firmly on the mat.

  3. Push through your hands and feet to lift your hips and lower back off the mat.

  4. Arch your back as you press up though your shoulders.

  5. Keep your arms and legs straight and try to form a straight line from your head to your feet.

  6. Hold the Bridge position for as long as you can or as required by the routine.

  7. To come out of the bridge, slowly lower your hips and lower back to the mat.
