Bridge Kick Over

DESCRIPTION

A Bridge Kickover is a skill that combines a Bridge with a kickover motion. It is typically performed on the floor and requires a combination of strength, flexibility, and coordination.

Here are the steps to perform a Bridge Kickover:

  1. Start by performing a Bridge with your hands and feet on the floor and your back arched upward.

  2. Keep your arms and legs straight and try to form a straight line from your head to your feet.

  3. Bring one leg up and over your body, kicking it up and over your head.

  4. As you kick your leg over, use your arms to stabilize and maintain your balance.

  5. Once your leg is over your head, try to land on the balls of your feet, in a lunge position.

DRILLS & EXERCISES

LEG LIFTS

Make sure you drive your leg over your head whilst simultaneously pressing your hips up and pushing through the floor with your grounded foot.

BRIDGE KICKS

Start in a Bridge position. Make sure you drive your kicking leg over your head whilst simultaneously pressing your hips up and pushing through the floor with your grounded foot.

ELEVATED KICKOVERS

When ready perform a Bridge Kickover on a safe stable elevated surface.
